I think we underestimate how much you know and understand. You must have acquired all your knowledge from all the books you read everyday. You always have your nose buried in one book or another, flipping through each page so diligently, entranced by the pictures and words on each page. Your favorite activity is pulling books off of shelves until all of them are on the floor and you are sitting in a sea of books. To our surprise, you even know many of your books by name and can pick them out of a pile when we ask for them. You smile so big and bounce with joy when we read you your favorite books. You are becoming a little musician! You love to play the piano and listen to music. When you hear music, you sit and bounce up and down, dancing to the beat! You also love to practice your newly acquired skill of putting objects into containers. You have also mastered how to throw two balls at the same time, with one in each hand. You put so much energy and enthusiasm into throwing balls! You love to mimic our words, actions, and facial expressions. You surprise us with repeating new words all the time, but you seem to only want to say them once or twice. Some words you have said this month include “Thank you”, “Tiger”, “Done”, and “Night night”. You love to mimic talking on the phone. Whenever we say "Hello?" or if the phone rings, you bring your hand up to your ear. We love all of your funny faces, like when you scrunch up your nose and squint your eyes really tight. With the exception of a one-time performance of standing alone for 5 seconds, you have not made much progress in getting around on two feet. You're a super fast crawler now, so you seem to have no interest in learning to walk. You would rather just crawl everywhere. You can even crawl up the stairs all by yourself! You are becoming much more picky with your food. Bananas still top the list, but blueberries and Hawaiian sweet bread are not far behind. You express your dislikes very clearly by tossing them on the floor or feeding them to us. Sippy cups still give you a lot of trouble, but Daddy taught you how to use a straw instead! Aside from the occasional tantrum of flailing on the floor, you are a sweet, happy, and easy going little guy. You happily go to sleep by yourself without a fuss after a good read and a good night kiss. You always sleep on your belly, usually tucking your knees under you and sticking your butt in the air. You love to give head-butt kisses to all of your stuffed animals, pillows, blankets, other babies, and basically anything soft! You are most cuddly in the mornings, when you snuggle in bed with Mommy and Daddy for your morning bottle. Your sweet hugs and kisses make our hearts melt everyday. When you see Mommy and Daddy cuddling, you always crawl over to us for a family snuggle-fest. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect little man!
